The events are as scheduled:

5-7 p.m. (CT)

• Community leaders will serve a free picnic on the Capitol lawn.

• Pierre/Ft. Pierre fire departments are offering free fire truck rides beginning at the Capitol.

• National Guard Mobile Events

• Kite Making & Flying

• Face Painting

• Emergency Vehicle Display

5:30 p.m.

• The community is invited to participate in the 1 mile fun run and the South Dakota Mile walk

  • The event will commence and conclude by the Capitol steps.

  • No pre-registration necessary.

  • EVERY participant is encouraged to complete and bring either the adult or the minor run/walk release form.

  • Starting at 4:30 p.m., forms will also be available at the event.

6 p.m.

• Governor's Presentation

7:30 p.m.

• The Capital City Band will perform, directed by Larry Johnson.
